Information on the Art Objects
These works are art and design objects without any electrical function. They are not operational devices or toys within the meaning of EU regulations. Any electrical or electronic components, such as buttons, are unconnected and non-functional, serving purely for visual purposes. Should a defect become apparent if such components are later connected, the seller assigns to the buyer any existing warranty claims against suppliers and will support the buyer in pursuing such claims.
Printed, laminated, or otherwise artistically treated plastic or wooden panels serve as mock screens. CABINET ART objects are sold exclusively for cultural and decorative display purposes. The artist, Karl Karol, issues a certificate of authenticity, declares himself the sole author of the artwork, and transfers ownership and exhibition rights to the buyer. An accompanying information sheet, Handling and Safety Instructions, is provided.
The purchase agreement permits modifications inside the artwork, expressly at the buyer’s own responsibility. As long as the exterior form and condition of the object remain unchanged, the artist authorizes alterations aimed at technical functionalization for exhibition purposes in non-public, i.e. theoretically access-restricted, locations. However, this is strictly without any warranty or liability regarding suitability for such purposes. In connection with such functionalization, Karl Karol will not invoke §14 of the German Copyright Act (UrhG).
In the event of resale of the artwork by art dealers, gallerists, auctioneers, or others profiting commercially therefrom, the resale royalty right under §26 UrhG must be observed, and the artist must be contacted.
Although all materials have been carefully selected, assembled, and bonded, and no defects are known to the seller, liability for deterioration due to aging or for usage-related characteristics is excluded. The buyer acknowledges the condition of the artwork as satisfactory and confirms its undamaged delivery.
